About Karlie
Karlie Spader is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves, discover their worth, and connect with what feels meaningful in their lives. She creates a supportive and affirming space where clients can explore their emotions, identities, relationships, and personal challenges at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.
Karlie has a particular passion for working with youth and adolescents. Through her clinical training and professional experience, she discovered how meaningful it can be to support young people as they navigate emotional challenges, identity development, peer relationships, family dynamics, and the many transitions that come with growing up.
Karlie also has experience supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Her early exposure to LGBTQ+ mental health needs helped inspire her path toward counseling, and she remains committed to providing care that is inclusive, respectful, and affirming.
Karlie earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Bridgeport. She gained clinical experience at Connecticut Psychiatric and Wellness Center in Woodbridge, Connecticut, where she developed her love of working with youth and adolescents. She also interned with True Colors, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut, where she was introduced to people from many different backgrounds and deepened her commitment to LGBTQ+ affirming care.
Karlie's Therapeutic Approach
Karlie’s therapeutic approach is warm, supportive, and affirming. She believes therapy should be a space where clients feel respected, accepted, and encouraged to explore who they are and what they need.
Karlie works collaboratively with clients to help them identify strengths, better understand their emotions, and develop healthier ways to cope with challenges. She supports clients in exploring self-worth, identity, relationships, and personal goals while helping them build confidence in their ability to move forward.
With youth and adolescents, Karlie focuses on creating a safe and engaging environment where clients can express themselves openly. She understands that young people may need support navigating school stress, peer relationships, family dynamics, identity development, anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation.
Clients working with Karlie can expect a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where they are encouraged to be themselves, explore what matters to them, and build a stronger sense of self.
